Set Two

Lighting

For this assignment I kept the nature theme and decided to photograph a little pot of flowers at my mom's house.  The first picture I took I brought the flowers outside and used natural light from the sun.

The next photo I used a yellow light from a lamp for the light source.  This light source made it very hard to get the flowers in focus and also changed the color quite a bit from the original.

The third shot is in a very dark room with the flash.  Although  the color of the flowers is right the flash caused a lot of shadows.

  1. I agree I like the first photo in this series the best. The natural light complements the colors and feel. The last photo seems harsh and the color washed out. But wow....look at how distorted the color got in the second one. It's amazing how light sources affect every aspect of photography.

  3. I think the first photo is neat, but the third one is pretty unique as well. The flower goes from looking real to looking like a fake flower in the last one, because of the way the flash reflects off the leaves. Nice photos!
